Book Yak on a Kayak In-Person

Book Yak on a Kayak 2023

Russell Library and the Connecticut River Conservancy are partnering for a one of a kind book discussion. We will be paddling out from the Philip Salifia Launch on Johnson Ave in Middletown, CT. After our paddle, we will discuss Six Walks: In the Footsteps of Henry David Thoreau by Ben Shattuck at Forest City Brewing.

A limited number of kayaks are available to reserve ahead of time.

Please email Christy Billings cbillings@russelllibrary.org to reserve one.

Books are available at the Borrowing Desk.

Thanks to a grant, the Connecticut River Conservancy has a limited number of Oru Inlet foldable kayaks, paddles and life vests to borrow. Please note that the max paddler height for these boats is 6'2" and the weight capacity is 275 lbs. Please email Christy Billings at cbillings@russelllibrary.org. to reserve when signing up, call 860.347.2528 EXT 1160.

Participants are welcome to use their own equipment.

Registration is required for all paddlers.

Please arrive and unload a little prior to 5PM. We will leave the dock promptly. Rain cancels the event.

A big thank you to the Ct River Steward, Rhea Drozdenko: rdrozdenko@ctriver.org and
