Backyard Composting 101 Virtual Workshop Offered by Russell Library
Learn about backyard composting on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:00-7:30 pm. at a virtual presentation with Uconn Master Composters, Allie McConnell and Baker Salsbury, and the City Recycling Coordinator, Kim O’Rourke.
Food and yard wastes can easily be turned into a nourishing and free soil amendment. Discover the drivers of the decomposition process, find out how to troubleshoot and avoid problems and become aware of the many benefits of compost. Experts will review the important elements of composting and discuss the pros and cons of different types of compost bins. Get all your composting questions answered!
The City of Middletown, in partnership with the Lower CT River Council of Governments, is holding a community sale of compost bins, rain barrels and other supplies and these can be found at https://connecticut.
