Food Waste Prevention Workshop In-Person

Learn about food waste, including how municipalities and CT DEEP are developing innovative pilots, programs and other initiatives to reduce, reuse and recycle the organic portion of our municipal solid waste. Sherill Baldwin of CT DEEP will provide an overview of the state programs and steps individuals can take to be part of the food waste prevention and food recovery solutions. Kim O’Rourke, Middletown’s Recycling Coordinator, will discuss food rescue efforts and food scrap recycling opportunities for residents, businesses and schools in Middletown.
