Film Screening: The Hate U Give (2018) In-Person

This screening of "The Hate U Give" will be followed by a discussion comparing the book written by Angie Thomas to the film adaptation directed by George Tillman Jr. screenplay written by Audrey Wells.

Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Now, facing pressure from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what's right. Starring Amandla Stenberg, Regina Hall, Russell Horns.

Run time 2 hours 13 minutes. Film will start promptly at 1:00 pm.

MPAA rating is PG 13. This program is open to all ages.

A light meal will be provided courtesy of the MRJC, so Registration is Required for this event. Please sign up by Wednesday 5/22.
