Drag Queen Story Hour at the Wadsworth Mansion! (Outside)

Drag Queen Story Hour at the Wadsworth Mansion! (Outside) In-Person

Join us for an outdoor storytime for Pride month with some of our Drag Queen friends on the lawn of the Wadsworth Mansion!

We will read books and share rhymes and songs for kids ages 4-8 and their families. We encourage attendees to bring a blanket to sit on since we will set up in the grass that day.

For kids age 4-8 (Pre K - 3rd Grade), siblings and families welcome!

Registration is encouraged (and will close 24 hours before the event begins).

Covid Library Event guidelines: to ensure everyone's safety we request that if any member of your household is experiencing Covid symptoms or is quarantining, we ask that you and your family stay home.

This program is sponsored by Middletown Pride!

Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces such as these, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real.

DQSH was created by Michelle Tea and RADAR Productions in San Francisco. DQSH events occur regularly in SF, NY, and LA. For more information on DQSH, visit DragQueenStoryHour.org
